Forests Plus Membership Terms

By submitting an application to join Forests Plus, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

Use of Application Information

When you submit a membership application, Forests Plus and American Forests collect the information you provide in order to:

  • Review your organization’s eligibility and fit within the Forests Plus network
  • Communicate with you about your application status
  • Manage membership records if your application is accepted
  • Share relevant updates, opportunities, and event invitations aligned with the Forests Plus mission


We do not sell your information. We do not share application data outside American Forests except as needed to operate Forests Plus activities.

Membership Is Not Guaranteed

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into Forests Plus. Applications are reviewed based on:

  • Alignment with Forests Plus values and mission
  • Ability to contribute to and benefit from the network
  • Space and capacity within membership categories
  • Organizational fit within the platform’s collaborative model


Forests Plus reserves the right to decline applications at its discretion. Applicants will be notified of the decision via email.

Retention of Application Data

American Forests retains membership application information for up to three years for evaluation, follow-up, and recordkeeping purposes, unless you request that your information be deleted earlier.

Changes to Membership Terms

Forests Plus may update these Membership Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our structure, processes, or legal obligations. Updates will be posted on this page with the date of revision.

Event Registration & Email Communications

When you register for a Forests Plus webinar, virtual event, or in-person convening, your registration information (such as name, email address, organization, and role) is collected in order to manage the event and communicate important updates.

Because Forests Plus is a platform built on shared learning and ongoing engagement, your registration also adds you to the Forests Plus email list, where you may receive:

  • Event follow-up and materials
  • Newsletters and updates
  • Invitations to future events and convenings
  • Opportunities to participate in network activities
