What is the Forest Voices Network?
The Forest Voices Network is a community of trusted storytellers who use their voices to help people better understand why forests matter and what it will take to protect and restore them.
The Network exists to elevate science-based, real-world stories about forests, shift public narratives around climate and nature, and reach new audiences through authentic, independent voices. Members connect with experts, data, and each other to strengthen their work, while maintaining full creative independence in how they tell stories.
The Forest Voices Network is supported by Forests Plus, which serves as a connector and facilitator of nonprofit, public, and private sector entities working towards healthy and resilient forests. Through high impact convenings and unbranded advocacy, Forests Plus builds momentum for forest solutions without directing or owning the message.
What You Get By Joining
- Access: Access to scientists, researchers and subject‑matter experts for content and partnerships
- Networking: Connection with peers working across platforms and regions
- Supported Opportunities: When resources allow, Forests Plus may support participation in in-person events, convenings, or field experiences through travel support or stipends aligned with key forest moments.
- Credibility: Research-backed briefings and insights that members can choose to draw from in their own work.
- Visibility: Amplification, reposts and potential collaborations with partners of Forests Plus.
- Experiences: Quarterly convenings, retreats or convenings bringing creators and scientists together.
What You Commit To
- Quarterly virtual gatherings to learn from each other and leading experts in forestry, climate and nature
- Receiving a quarterly toolkit with vetted data and research related to a particular forest topic (i.e. wildfire, forest finance, etc)
- Staying connected to the Network for opportunities like in-person events and collaborations
What this Network is Not
To preserve independence, credibility, and trust:
- Members are not asked to promote Forests Plus
- Members are not representatives or spokespeople of Forests Plus
- Participation does not require posting about Forests Plus
- Content remains editorially independent
- Members participate as part of the Forest Voices Network, not on behalf of Forests Plus.
Who Should Apply
The Forest Voices Network is intended for established storytellers, such as influencers, content creators, journalists, podcasters, writers, filmmakers, and communicators, who have an existing platform or body of work and are interested in deepening how forests show up in their storytelling.
