Markets Matter, and We Should All be Paying More Attention
Healthy forests don’t happen on their own, they require active management. The U.S. produces about 270 million dry tons of wood fiber a year, but markets are only absorbing 214 million. The rest is economically stranded and that is a liability for the forests and the communities that depend on them.
