Forests Plus is the evolution of the 1t.org US Chapter, launched in 2020 as part of the World Economic Forum’s global Trillion Trees platform.
For more than five years, 1t.org mobilized unprecedented ambition from companies, governments, and innovators around the world. In the United States, the chapter catalyzed cross-sector commitments, strengthened shared messaging, and built a national community committed to forest-positive action.
As the landscape evolved, so did the need for a more adaptive, systems-focused model that centered on policy alignment, financing innovation, implementation partnerships, and durable accountability.
We aligned our structures to meet this moment, reflecting a shift toward building the systems forests need. The U.S. chapter became Forests Plus, and the global initiative became the Forest Future Alliance. Together, these evolutions mark a next chapter: accelerating measurable, systems-level progress for forest
