Launched in 2020, 1t.org US served as the U.S. Chapter of the World Economic Forum’s global initiative to conserve, restore, and grow one trillion trees by 2030. Over five years, the chapter catalyzed a national community of companies, government entities, and nonprofits committed to forest-positive action. Through hundreds of pledges, shared messaging initiatives, and policy engagement, 1t.org US demonstrated the power of cross-sector collaboration. As the movement grew, so did the need for a more flexible, systems-focused platform — one capable of linking science to on-the-ground action, convening diverse leaders, and mobilizing capital at scale. Forests Plus emerged from that momentum: a broader, more adaptive platform designed to meet the moment and accelerate impact.
